WHMCS Crypto Payment Gateway: Accept USDC Payments

A WHMCS crypto payment gateway lets your clients pay invoices in cryptocurrency while WHMCS keeps doing what it already does: issuing invoices, chasing renewals and provisioning services. The simplest setup accepts USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, sends the money straight to a wallet you control, and marks each invoice paid by itself as soon as the payment confirms on the blockchain.

What a WHMCS crypto payment gateway has to do

WHMCS has no crypto payments built in, so a gateway module adds them. Whatever module you choose, it has to cover four jobs reliably:

  • Give every invoice a payment address, so you always know which client paid which invoice.
  • Watch the blockchain and close the invoice when the money arrives, without anyone checking a wallet by hand.
  • Move the funds to the wallet where you keep your money.
  • Cope with real-world payments: a client who pays in two transfers, a payment that lands a little short, or money that arrives after the order expired.

Many crypto gateways are processors: the money goes to their account first and they pay you out, keeping a percentage. A non-custodial gateway works differently. The addresses belong to your own wallet, so nobody stands between your client and your money.

Why USDC on Polygon or Base

Volatile coins make accounting awkward: an invoice of one amount can be worth something else by the time it is swept. USDC tracks the US dollar, so the amount you invoice is the amount you keep. Polygon and Base are networks where moving USDC costs a few cents, which matters when every invoice is swept to your main wallet.

How to accept USDC in WHMCS with CryptoPay

CryptoPay is a WHMCS payment gateway module for USDC on Polygon and Base. Setting it up follows these steps:

1
Install the module like any WHMCS gateway and activate it with your licence key.
2
Enter your own BIP-39 seed once. It is stored encrypted in your database, and every payment address is derived from it: there is no account to open with anyone and no third-party address anywhere in the flow.
3
Choose the wallet that receives the funds. Optionally, set a second wallet and the share of every sweep that goes to it.
4
Add a little gas balance on each network so sweeps can pay their network fee.
5
Enable the gateway for the products or invoices that should offer it.

From then on, each invoice gets a fresh address and a payment page with a QR code and a countdown. CryptoPay watches the chain, marks the invoice paid the moment the payment confirms and sweeps it to your wallet. An expired payment can be restarted on the same address. Everything runs on the WHMCS cron you already have, so there is nothing to add to cPanel or to a crontab.

What to check before you go live

  • Fees: with a non-custodial gateway there is no percentage of your sales. The only cost of moving a payment is the network fee, paid from your own gas balance.
  • Partial and late payments: CryptoPay accepts a payment that arrives in several transfers and a small shortfall you define, and it finds money that landed late or at a dead order and puts it where it belongs.
  • Records for your accountant: the admin panel shows balances, transactions, withdrawals and cross-network transfers, and builds yearly reports with CSV exports. Payment records are backed up automatically.
  • Compatibility: every CryptoPay release is installed and checked on WHMCS 8.13.7 LTS, 9.0.0 and 9.0.8. It needs PHP 8.1 to 8.3 with bcmath, curl and openssl, and ionCube Loader 14 or newer.

FAQ

Does a crypto payment gateway for WHMCS hold my money?

A processor does; a non-custodial gateway does not. With CryptoPay the addresses come from your own seed, so the funds never pass through anyone else.

Which coins and networks does CryptoPay accept?

USDC on Polygon and on Base, on whichever network your client prefers.

Do I need to set up a webhook or a server cron job?

No. CryptoPay watches the chain itself and runs on the WHMCS cron, so there is no webhook to expose and nothing to configure on the server.

What does CryptoPay cost?

$199 per year or $25 per month for one installation, with updates and support included while the licence is active.

CryptoPay turns WHMCS into a crypto payment gateway that pays you in USDC, into your own wallet, without a processor in the middle. The product page shows the screens of the admin panel and the installation manual comes with the module.
